Wow, this remote is a game changer! It was easy to connect to my IPad and the settings are so easy to follow. I really love the way it fits in my hand. I was so tried of clicking my mouse pad as I was studying and my wrists would end up hurting. If you are in nursing school or like me studying for the CCRN, it really helps with those long study sessions.
The remote is, in fact, incredibly valuable for sifting through cards. As someone who has spent 1000+ hours on Anki, I can vouch that a remote makes the daily grind easier. Specifically, it gamifies the studying process, making it just a little bit more bearable.
The remote becomes especially valuable during the review portion. These are cards that are already, in part, consolidated and should be easier. Thus, an aid such as paper or a whiteboard typically isn’t needed. The remote allows you to sit anywhere and do the cards from any location, which is a crucial benefit, since the alternative is being hunched over a laptop.
Though the remote doesn’t mitigate all the issues with the study process, it certainly helps to some extent. For example, with new cards, you may still need to jot facts down, especially for semantic-heavy content. That said, I think it’s a worthwhile investment for both your sanity and your academic future, especially if you plan on using Anki long-term.

The Study Remote has been the absolute best thing ever. It has not only made Anki more efficient but it has genuinely made studying so much enjoyable and easier. This remote definitely does what it says. My rating is more like 4.5-- I use it for quizlet not anki, and you cannot use it on the Ipad app unless you go to a browser ... which is slightly annoying. Otherwise, it is sturdy and held up over time since i got it 6 mo ago!
The study remote has made a huge difference in my studying throughout medical school. I love having the option to stand up and move around while doing my Anki since I can use the remote to click through my cards. In particular, I Iike working out and the study remote has allowed me to do some of my review cards while walking on the treadmill. The setup is easy and seamless! I can't recommend this product more!
